Changes Ahead for For The Record Mastering

Starting September 1, 2024 I will begin stepping back from mastering and For The Record Mastering will be shutting down shortly thereafter. I appreciate beyond words the trust you have bestowed upon me to care for your music and livelihood over the past 11 years.

There is no major life event causing this. I run another business that has grown to the point where I can no longer divide my time. I am sad to see this chapter come to a close but I am looking forward to the journey ahead.

I do not particularly like to create a problem without offering a solution so I have hand-picked 5 mastering engineers with whom I trust personally, sonically, and who would love to care for your music for years to come. This information will be posted below.

A few notes of housekeeping below:

• Upcoming Sessions - I will be accepting new client sessions until Sept 1st, 2024.

Ongoing Sessions - I will commit to seeing all in-progress records through their completion through December 31, 2024.

Archival & Storage - I will commit to storing all master data for 3yrs - Dec 31, 2027.

Gear - I do not currently have any plans to offload studio equipment.

It has been a privilege working with you over the past 11 years, and I am beyond grateful for this opportunity. Please feel free to reach out at any time: MatthewEGarber@gmail.com
